King and Queen announced at Homecoming Game Shantell Jackson of Tuckerman and Sach Oliver of Viola were named Arkansas State University Homecoming Queen and King at the Homecoming 2002 football game recently when the Indians took on the Mean Green of North Texas at the Jonesboro campus. Court members were previously announced following an election where ASU students selected members of the 2002 ensemble. The court and royalty were recognized during halftime at Saturday’s football game. Jackson, a senior mathematics major in the College of Arts and Sciences, is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and the Strong-Turner 3.0 Club. She is a former ASU Tribal Leader. Her parents are Farley and Cynthia Jackson of Tuckerman. Oliver, a senior agriculture business major in the College of Agriculture, is the Student Government Association president and a President’s List student. He serves as scholarship chair for the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. His parents are Eddy and Jeanie Oliver of Salem. # # # |
