The Office of International Programs at Arkansas State University has announced an opportunity for students to study, work and experience life in Germany through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange.

The program is seeking applications from Americans to participate in the international program, according to Dr. Barry Emberlin, director of the International Programs Office.

Applicants must be American citizens or permanent residents of the United States, be between the ages of 18 and 24, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

The program year includes two months of intensive German language training, four months of professional schooling at a German College of Applied Science, and five months of paid internship in industry or business.

International transportation, orientation, living expenses while studying and residence are all included in the program.

The work-study scholarship program is open to anyone with any vocational interest.

Deadline for application is Saturday, Dec. 1. Those interested in more details or an application may contact Emberlin at the Office of International Programs in the International Students Center at ASU, or call him 870-972-3800 or e-mail him at bemberli@astate.edu.
