Downloadable Image

The Arkansas State University Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, will host Gaelic Storm, the tempestuous five-piece Irish band, as part of their 2002-03 series on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall.

Known from their appearance as the "Party Band" in the film "Titanic," Gaelic Storm brings their Celtic music to Riceland Hall. The group has toured throughout Europe and the United States, and their three albums, "Gaelic Storm," "Herding Cats," and "Tree" have all been chart toppers.

The group has been entertaining audiences with their unique blend of thundering rhythms, mesmerizing melodies and ribald Irish wit since 1996. The group has earned a reputation for playing fast-paced tradition in the short time since Gaelic Storm first formed.

Admission for Gaelic Storm is $18 for adults and $12 for students; or $14 for adults and $9 for students, depending on the seat location. Tickets may be purchased from the ASU Central Box Office, located at the Convocation Center, 870-972-2781.

The next program in the Fowler Center Series will be the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m.

For more information contact Jerome Biebesheimer, director of Fowler Center, 870-910-8115.
