Achievement Awards presented at Convocation Dr. Gina Hogue, Dr. Nola Christenberry and Dr. Cyndy Hendershot were named recipients of the 2001-02 faculty achievement awards given by the Board of Trustees during a ceremony today at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Hogue, assistant professor of history, received the ASU Board of Trustees Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. Christenberry, associate professor for psychology and counseling, received the ASU Board of Trustees Faculty Award for Professional Service. Hendershot, assistant professor of English, received the ASU Board of Trustees Faculty Award for Scholarship. Hogue was recognized for her devotion to her students’ success in and outside of the classroom. She joined ASU faculty in 1990, and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Arkansas State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Memphis. Christenberry, who joined ASU faculty 14 years ago, was cited for her significant service contributions to her profession and to the university. She received her bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Arkansas State University. She received her Ph.D. from then Memphis State University. Hendershot joined the at ASU faculty in 1997. She received her bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico State University, and her master’s degree and Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. The winners were announced during the annual Faculty Honors Convocation, a highlight of the annual Convocation of Scholars. A university committee reviews nominations from professional colleagues and makes the selection. # # # |
