Museum to offer classes in summer Discovery Program The Arkansas State University Museum is offering classes in ceramics, photography and printmaking this summer for their Discovery Program. Classes are for students age 9 to 13 and fees for the classes include all supplies. Ceramics will be offered June 24 – June 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. Students will work with clay to produce three-dimensional forms. Instruction will include pottery methods of coil and slab building. The cost of the class is $55 for museum members and $60 for non-members. Photography will be offered July 8 – July 12 from 9 a.m. until noon. Students will learn the basics of photography as an art form. Classes will encourage students to explore ways to use light, texture, form and line to compose photography. The cost of the class is $70 for museum members and $75 for non-members. Printmaking will be offered July 15 to July 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. Students will learn the basics of printmaking using both linoleum block and mono prints. The cost of the class is $55 for museum members and $60 for non-members. Advanced registration with payment is required for each class. No telephone registrations will be accepted. To obtain a registration form call the Museum office, 870-927-2074, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Early registration is advised due to limited class size. # # # |
