5, 2001 Disability Awareness Week at ASU will be March 12-15 Disability Awareness Week at Arkansas State University will be Monday, March 12 through Thursday, March 15, at the Jonesboro campus. The theme is "Celebrating disAbility: Creativity, Diversity and Spirit." Workshops and activities focusing on access for individuals with disabilities and the current status of disability issues will be held throughout the week, according to Dr. Jenifer Rice-Mason, director of disability services at ASU. Events such as a student forum; faculty, staff and community forum; a video screening; an open house; and a luncheon will be held during the week. Various departments have exhibits and displays that can be seen throughout campus at various locations. Programs will provide educational and professional development training for students, faculty, staff, community and regional business and professional personnel. Participants may obtain Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Classes and organizations are welcome to participate in Disability Awareness Week activities, according to Rice-Mason.
