5, 2001 Burton D. Pusch to speak at Disability Services luncheon Burton D. Pusch will be the guest speaker at a luncheon on the final day of Disability Awareness Week at Arkansas State University, on Thursday, March 15, according to Dr. Jenifer Rice-Mason, director of disability services at ASU. The luncheon will be in the Reng Center Ballroom from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Pusch has more than 20 years of experience in management, consultation, advocacy and training and has worked in a cross section of programs and activities to enable the employment and community integration of persons with disabilities. A faculty member at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, he is responsible for two state and federal programs: the Arkansas Secondary Conditions Project and the Infusion project. He has served as executive director, program manager and training coordinator at various posts in Arkansas, Texas, Illinois and Washington, and is a doctoral candidate at the Rehabilitation Institute at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Pusch has served on a number of national and state boards and committees to assist persons with age and disability issues. He has authored a wide variety of articles and technical reports including "Interacting with Persons with Disabilities: An Etiquette Handbook." He is a featured speaker on disability issues at local, state, regional and national assemblies, including the President’s Committee on Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
