7, 2002 Concert Choir will perform Tuesday, Feb. 19 in Riceland Hall The Arkansas State University Concert Choir will perform in Riceland Hall at Fowler Center, located on Olympic Drive, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Dale Miller, director of choral activities and chair of the Department of Music. The program will include Cristobal Morales’ "Peccantem me"; W.A. Mozart’s "Requiem"; Anton Bruckner’s "Christus Factus est"; Tchaikovsky’s "The Legend"; Rene Clausen’s "Ubi Caritas"; and Ruby Shaw’s "Run to My Lord." Ellen Philpot, a graduate organ performance major of Jonesboro, will accompany the choir. The concert will also include preview performances by three senior music majors, Jeremy Blackwood, Alvin Coleman Jr., and Emily Terwilliger. The students will participate in the Arkansas-National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, which will be hosted by Arkansas State University this year. Blackwood will perform "Il lacherato spirito" from "Simon Boccanegra" by Verdi; Coleman will sing "It is Enough" from Mendelssohn’s "Elijah"; and Terwilliger will perform "O mio babbino caro" from "Gianni Schicchi" by Puccini. The concert choir includes Cassie Black of Searcy, Lisa Blakely of Fort Smith, April Gordon of West Helena, Caycee Hennan of Hardy, Sylenia Lewis and Cheyenne Nelson, both of Jonesboro, and Emily Terwilliger of Russellville, soprano I; Meagan Adams and Lisa Gipson, both of Jonesboro, Hayley Ralston of Pine Bluff, Erin Sims of Searcy, Etah Durham of Steele, Mo., Catie Holiman of Gideon, Mo., and Amy Crow of Azores, Portugal, soprano II; Audra House and Rachel Jaramillo, both of Jonesboro, Nellgene Wade of Memphis, Tenn., and Oksana Rissoukhina of Moscow, Russia, alto I; Tonya Butcher of Cushman, Lauren Hawkins and Ellen Philpot, both of Jonesboro, Crystal Richards of Osceola and Jennifer Pham of Maple Grove, Minn., alto II; Christopher Mitchell of Trumann, Jerry Tesch of Jonesboro, Matthew Cureton of Arbyrd, Mo., and Nicholas Sheppard of Doniphan, Mo., tenor I; Stephen Leslie of Booneville, Whitney McCoy of Jonesboro, Christopher France of Little Rock, Andrew Kjorlaug of Paragould and Eric O’Briant of Pine Bluff, tenor II; Jeremy Blackwood of Harrisburg, Alvin Coleman Jr. of Forrest City, Keith Westbrook of Benton, Edmond Hampton of Fort Smith and Daniel Harrelson of Warren, baritone, Jonathan Snipes and John Hays, both of Jonesboro, Randy Anis of Pocahontas, Justin Lowe of Highland and Jared Rodgers of Tulsa, Okla., bass.
