May 17, 2001 Arkansas School-Age Care Conference will be in Little Rock June 8-9 The Arkansas School-Age Care Conference will be held in Little Rock at the Holiday Inn-Airport Hotel Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9. The event is sponsored by Arkansas State University Childhood Services, the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. The conference is designed for anyone currently involved or becoming involved with programs for the school-age child or youth. Highlights at the conference include nationally known experts who will provide programming models from around the country; new trends; and conflict resolution and discipline. Presenters at the conference include publisher and editor Rich Scofield of Tennessee, author Roberta Newman of Virginia, and author Nancy Alexander of Louisiana. The consultants and other conference presenters will be available throughout the conference to answer questions. Workshop topics include dramatic play; school-age licensing requirements; communicating with parents; cooperative games; quick and inexpensive school-age activities; and director’s issues in after school programs.
