The All-American Boys Chorus will perform at Fowler Center, located at 201 Olympic Drive, at Arkansas State University on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is part of the Riceland Distinguished Performance Series.

The 30-voice ensemble, with members ranging in age from nine to 14 years-old, are veterans of concert tours in North America, Europe and the Far East. Jonesboro families will host members of the group overnight in their homes.

Their concert will feature music from America’s musical history, with Broadway favorites such as "Tonight," "Ol’ Man River," and "76 Trombones," as well as songs from the Roaring ‘20s, the Big Band era and Dixieland, and a selection of patriotic songs.

Founded in 1970, The All-American Boys Chorus quickly expanded and soon encompassed boys of all races, faiths, creeds, nationalities and ethnic origins. In 1974 the Chorus became a nonprofit organization. The program is financed entirely by concert fees, concert tours, private and corporate donations, fund raisers and tape/CD sales. Members do not pay tuition.

Boys are admitted after completion of an eight-week audition process, and then must train for an additional six to 12 months. Concert tours take place each summer for 25 to 30 days. The Chorus has produced four, full-length albums, and has performed to standing ovations all over the world.

Tickets are available at the Central Ticket Office, located in the Convocation Center, or by calling 870-972-2781. Admission prices for adults are $18 and $14; for students, $13 and $10.
