15, 2002 Agriculture, economics professor Neil E. Harl to speak at Agriculture Conference Downloadable Image Dr. Neil E. Harl, professor of agriculture and economics at Iowa State University, will speak at the 8th Annual Arkansas State University Agriculture-Business Conference on industry issues and commodity market outlook Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the ASU Fowler Center and Convocation Center. Harl, a member of the Iowa Bar, serves as director of the Center for International Agriculture Finance. The center conducts schools principally for Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and China. His emphasis areas at Iowa State include agricultural law, agricultural finance and resource economics. He served as president of the American Agricultural Economics Foundation and the American Agriculture Economics Association. Harl helped to organize and serve as the first president of the American Agricultural Law Association, and is the recipient of numerous awards such as the United States Department of Agriculture Superior Service Award in 1997. Harl has published 23 books, more than 400 professional articles and bulletins, and more than 850 articles in farm and financial publications.
