3, 2001 Nursing, Health Professions to offer continuing education abuse series The College of Nursing and Health Professions at Arkansas State University will host the first session of a three-part continuing education series on abuse on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Nursing and Health Professions building, 104 North Caraway Road. The session will include a discussion on law, parenting and indicators of child maltreatment. Presenters will also include information for professionals and participants on resource/support options, and treatment opportunities in Northeast Arkansas. Speakers include Cyndi Broadway, LCSW from the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, and Karen Fuller, LMSW at ASU. Future sessions and speakers include a session on elder abuse with Dr. Rose Dobrof of Brooklyn, N.Y., on Saturday, Nov. 3; and domestic abuse with Jayne Ann Kita and Lisa Gilbert from the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Abuse on Saturday, Dec. 1.
