Five faculty members from the Department of Music at ASU perform with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, including Craig Collison, percussion; Robin Dauer, horn; Ken Hatch, clarinet; Richard Jorgensen, trumpet; and Ed Owen, tuba. Jorgensen and Owen serve as the principal players for their section.

The concert program includes "Fingal’s Cave" and "Violin Concerto" by Mendelssohn; "West Side Story" by Bernstein, arranged By Peress; "Salute to Ol’ Blue Eye" arranged by Moss; "Shall We Gather at the River/Down by the Riverside" arranged by Itkin; "March from the Great Escape" by E. Now in its 36th season, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is led by American conductor David Itkin. The ensemble includes the state’s most sought-after musicians and is heard by more than 200,000 Arkansans each year.

Conductor Itkin is only the fourth conductor for the group, and has a background of symphony, ballet and opera conducting across the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra performs more than 20 concerts at Robinson Center Music Hall in Little Rock each season on its "Masterworks" and "Pops Live" series, as well as an annual Black History Month Celebration and children’s concerts.

Distinguished guest artists include Itzhak Perlman, Mignon Dunn, Marlyn Horn, Andre Watts, Bernadette Peters, James Earl Jones and Doc Severinsen.

Ticket prices for the event are $20 and $17 for adults, and $15 and $12 for students. Ballet Folklorico will perform on Nov. 9, as the next event in the Fowler Center series.
