18, 2001 Technology Fair set for Thursday, Oct. 25, at Reng Center The Office of Disability Services at Arkansas State University will host a Technology Fair Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., in the Reng Center Ballroom, at the Jonesboro campus. Vendors will demonstrate and provide information about current technology, equipment and assistive devices available for use by persons with and without disabilities, such as electronic note-taking devices, chair lifts for home furniture and accessibility tools. "Technology is the wave of the future and Disability Services feels it necessary to educate students, faculty, staff, teachers, families, medical professionals, and others by providing information about equipment and assistive devices available for individuals with and without disabilities," Kimberly Fiends, event coordinator, said. "Various activities and demonstrations will be held throughout the day, including a silent auction and door prizes." All ASU students, faculty and staff, as well as community members, are invited to attend the free event. Some of the Technology Fair participants include Abilities Unlimited; Arkansas Rehabilitation Services; Disability Rights Center; Health South Rehab Hospital; Jonesboro Prosthetic and Ortho; Snell Prosthetics and Ortho; St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center; Sun Com; and the Learning Center.
