28, 2001 Wind Ensemble will perform at Fowler Center April 12 The Arkansas State University Department of Music will present the Wind Ensemble in concert Thursday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m., in Riceland Hall at the Fowler Center, located on Olympic Drive. The ensemble is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands. The program for the evening will consist of "Blue Lake," by John Barnes Chance; "New World Symphony," by Anton Dvorak, arranged by Mark Hindsley; "Amazing Grace," traditional arrangement by Frank Ticelli; "Culloden," by Julie Giroux; "Symphony No. 3 Finale," by Gustav Mahler, arranged by Jimmie Howard Reynolds; and "Armenian Dances," by Alfred Reed. ASU alumnus Peggy Jeffries, band director at Nettleton High School, will be the guest conductor for "Amazing Grace." Wind Ensemble personnel include Courtnie Gibson of Osceola, Tina Glover of Piggott, Emily Heern of Jonesboro, April Martin of Wynne and Tiffany Moss of Paragould, flute; Miguel Picanco of Bono and Damian Sanchez of Miami, Fla., oboe; Shandee Dillon of Jacksonville, English horn; Mike Scott of Jonesboro and Nicole Carroll of Bryant, bassoon; bassoons; LaKisha Allen of Forrest City, Angela Bunting of Jonesboro, Tonya Butcher of Batesville, Dorothy Hughes of Helena, Margaret Teeling of Little Rock and Jeanny Morrison of Derry, N.H., clarinet; Kim Carter Walker of Searcy and Laurie Kinder of Salem, bass clarinet; Jon Barnett of Jonesboro and David Robinson of Newport, alto saxophone; Jonathan Rohner of Bono, tenor saxophone; Shane Hill of Halls, Tenn., baritone saxophone; Peter Davis of Jonesboro, Joe Deaton of Kaiser, Jimmy Gazaway, Melanie Harper and Richie Williams, all of Paragould, Brett Williams and Richard Cooper, both of Forrest City, trumpet; Ion Balu of Romania, Jason Grisham of Paragould, Amanda Jenkins of Calico Rock, Greg Osborne and Tim Hendrix, both of Jonesboro, French horn; Patrick Barger of Paragould; Lanny Heidbreder of Corning, David South of Jonesboro and Brian Sutton of West Memphis, trombone; Margo Lusk of Hardy and Celia King of Benton, bass trombone; Blake Owen of West Memphis and Daryol Edwards of Jonesboro, euphonium; Jason Tacker of Wynne and John Hays of Jonesboro, tuba; Carl Roberts of Forrest City, Tina Gragg of Brookland, Kirk Lonidier of Corning, Jonathan Murray of Bryant, Russell Niemeyer of Prescott and Bryan Nicolle of Paragould, percussion.
