17, 2001 Retiring faculty recognized at Faculty Honors Convocation Fifteen faculty members who are retiring this academic year were recognized today for their longtime service to Arkansas State University. Those with 10 or more years service were named to emeritus status during the annual Faculty Honors Convocation. An individual tribute to each of the retirees was presented, highlighting their accomplishments and contributions to the university. They also received the certificate of emeritus status from Dr. Les Wyatt, president. Those recognized, their current positions and their lengths of service at ASU were: --Dr. Larry Ball, Professor of History in the Department of History, 31 years. --Rosalie Barber, Instructor in Physical Education, Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Sciences, 32 years. --Dr. James Burleson, Professor of English, Department of English and Philosophy, 38 years. --Dr. Beverly DeWater, Assistant Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychology and Counseling, 29 years. --Dr. Lawrence Hinck, Professor of Microbiology, Department of Biological Sciences, 32 years. --Dr. John Kaminarides, Professor of Economics; Director of COB Grants and Contracts, Department of Economics and Decision Sciences, 33 years. --Dr. Owen Moseley, Professor of Accounting, Department of Accounting, Finance and Law, 15 years. --Dr. Larry Olson, Associate Professor of Entomology, Department of Biological Sciences, 31 years. --Dr. Roger Roderick, Professor of Management, Department of Management, Marketing and Business Systems, eight years. --Dr. Keith Rogers, Dean, College of Agriculture, Professor of Agricultural Economics and Director of Agricultural Research, 15 years. --Dr. Louis Semrau, Professor of Special Education, Department of Special Education, 24 years. --Dr. Fuad Talib, Associate Professor of Insurance, Department of Accounting, Finance and Law, 19 years. --Dr. Stephen Tricarico, Assistant Professor of Geography, Department of Criminology, Sociology, Social Work and Geography, 33 years. --Dr. Stanley Vanagunas, Professor of Public Administration and Coordinator, MPA Program, Department of Political Science, 18 years. |
