3, 2001 ASU Parents Day set for Saturday, Oct. 13 The Office of Student Life at Arkansas State University will offer a variety of activities as it hosts Parents Day on Saturday, Oct. 13, on the Jonesboro campus. Events will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with an open house for student organizations and residence halls. From 10 a.m. until noon the ASU Equine Center will host an open house, with demonstrations by Equine Center staff. A barbecue lunch and tailgate party on the west side of Indian Stadium will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. The tailgate party precedes the 2 p.m. game, where the Indians will take on the Ragin’ Cajuns from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Following the game, participants are invited to the Convocation Center for the Nutt House Nite Cap, a sneak peek at Coach Dickey Nutt’s Indian Basketball team. "We feel there is no better way for parents to become a part of the ASU family than at Parents Day," April Mann, assistant dean of students, said. "See where your student lives, meet his or her friends, and enjoy an exciting day of Arkansas State spirit at our athletic events." Tickets for the tailgate lunch and game are $10, or $5 for each event. For more information about Parents Day or lodging, contact April Mann in the Office of Student Life, 870-972-2034. # # # |
