ASU Publications and Creative Services office honored with ADDY Awards  

March 11, 2009 -- The Office of Publications and Creative Services at Arkansas State University was honored with several ADDY awardGraphic designers Heath Kelly (left) and Mary Williams hold the “Best of Show” award presented by the NEA Advertising Federation to ASU’s Publications and Creative Services department for producing the University Advancement Case Statement. s during the recent awards banquet of the Northeast Arkansas Advertising Federation.

“Howl” magazine, a publication targeting prospective students, received a bronze ADDY in the print division. The Red Wolf logo, introduced in March of 2008, received a gold ADDY, and the University Advancement Case Statement, chronicling the history of and future plans for ASU, was awarded a gold ADDY. The case statement also received the “Best of Show” award for the print division.

Although many of the projects in Publications and Creative Services are collaborative efforts achieved by the entire staff, the lead artists on the award-winning projects are as follows: “Howl” Magazine, graphic designer, Mary Williams; Red Wolf logo, director of publications, Mark Reeves; Case Statement, graphic desig
ner, Heath Kelly.  Dr. Nancy Hendricks, director of Alumni Communications, and Diana Monroe, director of Development Communications, served as writers/editors for the two publications.  ASU photojournalist Ernie Rice provided many of the photographs.

Other members of the Publications and Creative Services staff are executive director Ron Looney, graphic designer Michael Johnson, and departmental secretary Cheryl Wright.
