College of Nursing and Health Professions
recognizes top graduating students

April 30, 2007 --
The College of Nursing and Health Professions at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro recognized its most outstanding graduating students during its annual Convocation of Scholars honors program, according to Dr. Susan Hanrahan, dean of the college.

The students were selected by faculty in the individual degree programs to receive the award for outstanding achievement and service to their respective departments.

Award winners in the Department of Health Professions and their respective degree programs were: Brian Bates of Doniphan, Mo., BS, imaging specialist; Torrie Taylor of Batesville, BS, diagnostic medical sonography; Cory Grace of Corinth, Miss., BS, radiation therapy; Brooke West, AAS, radiologic technology; Jessica Wolverton of Ash Flat, BS, communication disorders; Laci D. Roberts Gunter of Marble Hill, Mo., MCD, communication disorders; Jimmie W. Eudy of Jonesboro, MPT, physical therapy; Leigh Johnson of Malden, Mo., AAS, physical therapist assistant; Chris Green of Blytheville, BS, clinical laboratory science; and Robert Herndon of Jonesboro, AAS, clinical laboratory technology.

Award winners in the Department of Nursing were: Diana Fuller of Mountain Home, MSN, nursing, adult health; Sarah Hogan of Jonesboro, MSN, nursing, family nurse practitioner; and Angela Buckalew of Cordova, Tenn., MSN, nursing, nurse anesthesia; Johnnie Gambill of Jonesboro and Lindsey Hedden of McCrory, BS, nursing; Melanie Forrest of Jonesboro, AAS, nursing, ASU-Jonesboro; Kelly Nicole Collinsworth of Searcy, AAS, nursing, ASU-Beebe site; Mikki N. Jones of Imboden and Laura Ryan of Mountain Home, AAS, nursing, ASU-Mountain Home site; and Amber Gates of West Memphis, West Memphis site.

The award winner in the Department of Social Work was Brenda Gray of Hayti, Mo., BS, social work.
