PIGGOTT, May 31, 2005 – Disappearing Delta, photographs by Curtis Duncan, is on exhibit at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) at 1021 W. Cherry St. The photographs document recent history and development of the Delta region. The exhibit will be in the Pfeiffer-Janes House through July 16.

Curtis Duncan, a resident of Dell, Ark., and a 1950 graduate of Arkansas State College, now Arkansas State University, launched a second career when he began taking 35mm photographs and slides in 1965. The focus of the exhibit is on works that communicate the nostalgic qualities of an almost bygone era through images of buildings. The exhibition is from ASU Museum’s collection of almost 3,000 photographs that Duncan donated to the Museum.

HPMEC is open for tours on the hour, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is a $5 donation, $3 for groups of 10 or more (by reservation) and senior citizens. Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum members are free. HPMEC is an institution of Arkansas State University.
